Teamwork, that’s what good business is about. Building relationships with the men and women in your company and the companies you work with. This applies across borders of countries and cultures.
Which is why Campey Product Specialist David Briggs and demonstrator Andrew Pickin covered 3500 km in Campey’s Lorry, with a full load of equipment? Destination – the beautiful Golf Club Pavoniere, Tuscany, in Italy.
The purpose? – a full day of presentation and demonstrations of innovative machinery for sports turf maintenance to a group of 120 greenkeepers and groundsmen gathered from across Italy.
The day was arranged by Actis per Golf, Campeys’ Italian distributor, in co-operation with John Deere Golf and the official organisation for TURF in Italy.
Domenico Actis spoke on behalf of the company. “Star of the event has been, without doubt, the new AIR 2G2. Seen for
the first time here, it has captured the interest of the golf market with its “zero” damage approach to decompaction.”
“But not taking anything away from the whole line of Imants equipment from the Rotoknife to the well-known Shockwave. All have caught the imagination of the greenkeepers and Golf Directors that spent the day with us.”
The day proved a success and as Domenico acknowledged in the light of a general lack of enthusiasm in the Italian market – “the positive feedback from the day has given great hope to all of us, active in turf and golf, that the future will be greener.”
He gave special thanks to David and Andrew for their participation in the day and in particular for also arranging the delivery on the day, of a Koro by Imants TopDrain 1500 which had been sold to Scaffa s.r.l. – a very important Actis customer involved in construction and maintenance of golf and soccer pitches.
David Briggs was delighted with the event “We have had such a lot of interest from our Italian colleagues,” he said. “The simplicity and effectiveness of the Rotoknife has been quite a talking point, and the Air 2G2 got a great reception. Actis is confident that these will prove successful for them in the future.”
